Venue Details
The Park Inn Hotel Northampton is located in the heart of the town centre;
it is easily accessible from the M1 and is only a 5 minute walk from the train station.
The hotel has 145 rooms, 3 bars and a restaurant available to all attendees.
There is also a health club within the hotel which comprises a pool gymnasium and spa facilities.
The hotel is due to begin a period of redecoration and refit in all rooms over 2008 which will be
completed by year end.
The hotel is situated a 2 minute walk from the retail centre of Northampton,
which contains all the usual stores you'd expect to find. There are many food outlets with
a lot on offer and plenty of banks nearby for you all to empty your accounts at
the dealer room.
Bookings
We have managed to negotiate a very reasonable room rate of £ 65 a night for a double room for convention attendees. When you call to reserve your room quote Kitacon as all rooms have been removed from general booking, and allocated to our attendees only. Should the Park Inn hotel be full by the time you come to reserve your room alternatives are available nearby. The Ibis is just across the road an offers rooms a very reasonable rate.
Hotel Convention History
Many people will recall this hotel as the host of previously successful conventions
such as "Ayacon" the hotel was previously known as the moat house hotel.
In deciding a venue for Kitacon we visited many other sites, but the allure
of the Park Inn captured us both in sentiment and location.
The hotel staff are very friendly and have had experience in handling such events
and as I've mentioned previously they host successfully "Ayacon" and will be hosting
the upcoming Eclipse "Heroes" convention. All of us first and for most being anime fans,
so we wanted to be sure that the event would be treated with the care, respect and
attention it deserves. We are very pleased to be coming back to, in many of our cases
the birth place of our relationship with the anime community. I would like to thank
the hotel staff for allowing this to happen.
